In addition to the Canadian custom shop basses, you can also find more affordable "Ready to Play" basses at Dingwall. You'll find three models here; Combustion, Combustion NG and the D-Roc. The regular Combustion (the Combustion NG is the Adam "Nolly" Getgood signature model) can be considered the most versatile "center-piece" of the collection. The body is made of swamp ash and has -always- a quilt maple veneer top. The neck is made of five-piece maple and has either a maple or pau ferro fingerboard, of course with multiscale divisions from 34" to 37" (for a 5-string) and stainless steel frets. Standard on all Combustions is the active EMG pre amp with -two or three- Dingwall FD-3N pickups and these basses are available as 4, 5 or 6 strings. Compared to the NG, the regular Combustion is a bit wider in its application and a large(er) variety of genres; the combination of woods used and the EMG pre-amp creates a richer and wider palette of sounds, while the NG is mostly pointy and aggressive (too crazy for application for which the NG was -primarily- conceived; metal). In addition, the Combustion is classic in appearance and available in several stylish bursts. This Blackburst Combustion-5 has a maple fingerboard and the 2-pickup "Jazz-style" set-up. Comes complete with deluxe Dingwall gig bag.
