The Furman PL-PRO DMC is a power conditioner, featuring Furman's exclusive Series Multi-Stage PROtection Plus (SMP+) with Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) and Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) for extremely reliable protection of your audio/studio equipment. SMP+ (Series Multi-Stage Protection Plus)
The Furman PL-PRO DMC's SMP+ surge protection virtually eliminates the need for on-site support. Traditional surge protection circuits "sacrifice" themselves when exposed to surge surges, requiring your system to be disassembled and the surge protector repaired. This is not so with SMP+. With SMP+ of the PL-PRO DMC, harmful surge voltages are safely absorbed, clamped and dissipated. No failed parts, no service calls, no down time. Fine!
Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS)
Unique to the Furman PL-PRO DMC's SMP+ is its unmatched voltage handling. Even in tests with multiple peaks of 6000 VAC - 3000 Amps. This unprecedented level of protection is only available with Furman's SMP+ technology. In addition, Furman's over-voltage circuit protects against common unintended connections by shutting off the PL-PRO DMC's incoming power until the over-voltage is corrected. EVS voltage protection, over-voltage shutoff: 275V.
LiFT (Linear Filtering Technology)
Unfortunately, traditional AC filter conditioners are not always the best designed. Older technologies can hurt audio and video performance more than help, due to resonance spikes from their outdated, nonlinear designs. Under certain conditions, these designs can add more than 10 dB of noise to the incoming AC line! Worse, lost digital data, the need to restart digital pre-sets or destroyed digital converters are often caused by excessive voltage spikes and AC noise contaminating the equipment's ground. The Furman PL-PRO DMC's SMP+ with LiFT takes a different approach, ensuring optimal performance through linear filtering and no leakage to ground.
LED Rack Lights
The Furman PL-PRO DMC features LED rack lights that produce virtually no heat and have extremely long life. A dimmer control for the rack lights allows the user to adjust the lighting level or simply turn the lights off. In addition, the Furman PL-PRO D II has a BNC jack on the back, to which a standard (12VAC, 0.5A) gooseneck light can be connected for rear rack lighting with a switch on the front to control the gooseneck.
USB for charging external devices
Portable music players or tablets are increasingly being used in live performances, and the PL-PRO DMC has a USB port on the front panel for charging and powering these devices.
