The SB59/v represents the top of the line for Eastman's solid body series. The guitar resembles the regular true tone finished SB59 in many ways but with its aged varnish finish the SB59/v not only looks different, it sounds and feels different as well; the varnish finish adds to the resonance, woody and vivid tone of the guitar. Not to mention; the SB59/v features a sweet set of pickups: Lollar Imperial Humbuckers. These medium output PAF-style pickups sound rich and creamy, open but also beautifully crumbly and traditional.
The SB59/v is made with a one-piece mahogany body with a solid, carved flamed maple top and has a scale of 24.75". The neck is made out of one-piece mahogany topped with an ebony fingerboard (12" radius) and Jescar frets. All hardware is by Gotoh, pots are by CTS and a Switchcraft jack connector is installed.
