This latest version of the ME2 features the L2 pre-amp with Freeboost technology. This allows you to play amplified or unamplified with the effects and sounds of the pre-amp. The new L2 pre-amp also allows you to play percussive with the built-in microphone.
The ME2 Freeboost is in every way a western guitar, but built totally unconventionally. Where to start...First of all you won't find one single gram of wood on this guitar; it is completely made out of carbon fibre. The guitar is casted as a whole, neck and body, out of one piece. The top is only 1.4 mm thick and is reinforced with a layer of honeycomb structure. This construction makes the body resonant, strong, comfortable and light.
The neck contains two fixed carbon fibre trussrods. Because of its construction, the neck is ultra stiff and therefore the trussrods are not adjustable; the neck simply unable to move and so, adjusting it, is not necessary.
This way of building results in an eye-catching instrument; Lava clearly had no intentions to refer to the traditional concept of a guitar. But, besides that, there are some significant advantages too! Every Lava guitar is exactly the same and the material is completely insensitive to weather conditions (like wood is). And because the material is cast in a mold, both the body and the neck have perfected, comfortable contours and the colors are through-and-through. That makes the finish 100% smooth and scratch-free.
The frets are levelled by a PLEK machine and regular strings are used on this guitar. Included is a luxury soft case.
