The Tascam SS-R250N is a solid-state recorder/player equipped with network connectivity and various remote control options for professional applications such as in broadcast studios or fixed installations. It records in WAV and MP3 formats to SD/SDHC/SDXC and USB flash memory. Since the recorder can connect to an FTP server via a network, it can automatically upload recordings after a recording is completed or download files for playback. Time synchronization via SNTP is also possible.
Thanks to the dual SD card slots, the SS-R250N provides backup for your valuable files. While recording, backups can be made to the second memory card, or the recorder switches to the second card once the memory of the first card is full. The device also automatically shuts down files if the power suddenly goes out during recording, so the entire recording session is not lost.
The SS-R250N can be controlled in several ways: The RC-SS150 remote control offers a convenient interface with a color LC display and 12 buttons for flash playback. There is also a dedicated app available for iOS and Android devices that can be used to control transport operations and various settings. Or you can integrate the recorder into existing environments with serial or parallel connection/control.
Also, the SS-R250N is equipped with a "pre-recording" function. With this you no longer have to worry about missing the first few seconds of your recording as they are stored in the buffer. For audio connections the SS-R250N is equipped with balanced and unbalanced analog inputs and outputs as well as SPDIF coaxial and AES/EBU digital I/O with sample rate converter. An optional Dante interface card provides two-channel input/output for Dante audio networks.
