The Tama Starclassic Walnut Birch is a modern sounding and versatile drum kit. The shells consist of 4 layers of birch and 2 layers of american black walnut (kick drum 5 layers of birch and 2 layers of walnut). This gives the set a thick and punchy mid and low frequency range. The perfect combination between the projection of birch and the mid and low end and warmth of walnut.
This set originates from the former Tama Starclassic Performer birch/bubinga; in the current Starclassic Walnut Birch, the bubinga has been replaced by walnut. The biggest difference between the two is that it's even more focused and has a bit less low end than its predecessor. Dampening pads and other frills are not needed for an all-round thick sound with fat tone.
