Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '70 Tele Thinline Journeyman Relic, Aged Natural

The Fender Custom Shop guitars are really something else. With these hand-built instruments Fender makes it very clear that they are unmistakably the boss when it comes to building the most tone-full, authentic sounding Strats, Tele's, offset's, Jazz and P basses.
The degree of output, tonal range and the specific character of the Custom Shop instruments is unprecedented and incomparable. Fender's master luthiers know better than anyone how to recreate the looks and vibe of the vintage Fender's so coveted by many.
The quest for that one unique vintage instrument has probably become impossible; the vintage Fenders that are still in out there an which are good and original are often priceless. On top of that, it is questionable whether you would want to actually play with such collector's items!
And in that respect, Fender Custom Shop offers the ultimate solution; all the sound, look, feel and vibe of authentic Fender guitars, without the worries about playability, damage or wear (and therefore value reduction) and -relative to the pricing of vintage guitars- in a realistic price range.

We've managed to get our hands on some Limited Edition Fender Custom Shop's built specifically by Fender for a Custom Shop Winter 2022 Event. And this unique example was built specifically for that event.

This Telecaster has a two-piece select ash body, an "Oval-C shaped" birdseye maple neck and round-laminated birdseye maple fingerboard with a 9.5" radius and 21 medium vintage frets (6150).
The pickups are a set of Fender Wide-Range CuNiFe humbuckers pickups with 3-position 1972 Tele Thinline wiring. The bridge is a Vintage-Style Strat Hardtail bridge (string through) and the tuners are vintage Schaller "F" tuners.
Fender's Custom Shop luthiers have mastered the craft of applying the aged, relic'te look like no other. This Lmited Edition has a subtle and very naturally faithful "Journeyman Relic" natural finish. As far as we are concerned; as a Thinline should be!
This guitar weighs only 2.85 kg / 6.28 lbs.

What a treat it is to play this guitar. 70's Thinlines are usually very versatile guitars and that is definitely the key word with this one too. This Custom Shop can rock, blues, funk...it doesn't really matter. The guitar is very resonant and beautifully balanced; the low-end is fat, the top-end is nice and crisp, the neck pickup is warm and transparent and the bridge pickup is creamy. What more could you possibly want!
Included is the deluxe, original Fender case, matching accessories and, of course, the certificate.
