The Player Plus is a deluxe variant of the affordable Player, which is actually Fender's introductory line. Unlike a regular Player, the Plus has a number of nice, luxurious features, such as; a satin finished neck with 12" radius and rolled fingerboard edges, locking tuners and Noiseless pickups with an additional push pull switch with which the neck element can be added to the "pickup position 1 & 2" circuit. Some of these features are also found in the American Pro II series, making the Player Plus -although made in Mexico- a bit of a middle ground between the Player and the made in USA guitars. The Player Plus guitars feel, play and sound a notch looser than the regular Players, making it the right choice for someone who wants to go the extra mile when choosing his or her new guitar!
The Player Plus Telecaster has a traditional alder Tele body, bolt-on maple neck (modern C shape) and pau ferro fingerboard with 12" radius and rolled fingerboard edges. Two Player Plus Noiseless single coil Tele pickups with the traditional 3 position pickup switch and volume and tone controls with the additional push pull switch for connecting the pickups in series. The Player Plus Tele also features a modern bridge with six independent saddles and locking tuners for optimum stability and tuning stability. And Fiesta Red always is a cool finish for any Fender!
