The RME ADI-2 DAC FC is a professional studio D/A converter.

With a custom feature set and greatly simplified operation, the ADI-2 DAC FC focuses on audiophile-quality D/A conversion, along with two great-sounding outputs for headphones and in-ear monitors; and a remote control. Housed in a compact half-rack form factor, this gem is packed with the best high-end electronics and delivers reference-class conversion of S/PDIF coaxial, S/PDIF optical (ADAT compatible), and USB to RCA, XLR, TRS, and mini-TRS.

Packed with features and tremendously versatile
The ADI-2 DAC FC features balanced and unbalanced analog outputs, RME's "Extreme Power" headphone output, a Super Low Noise IEM output, proprietary SteadyClock FS technology, a four-stage hardware output level control, DSP-based signal processing, external power supply, class-compliant USB compatibility, and sample rates up to 768kHz, as well as DSD and Direct DSD playback for peerless high-resolution sound.

Optimized for in-ear monitors
The ADI-2 DAC FC is not only great for headphones, but also for IEMs (earphones), which have become a popular choice for audiophiles looking for a lightweight alternative to bulky over-the-ear monitors. Since IEMs operate at lower voltages than traditional headphones, the ADI-2 DAC has a dedicated IEM output that ensures exceptional sound quality and prevents accidental damage to the IEM drivers from excessive output signals.

Reliable clocking with jitter-free performance
RME owes its reputation as a leader in digital-to-analog conversion in part to its SteadyClock technology, which significantly reduces jitter and digital interference for pristine audio quality. SteadyClock FS, the latest version of this technology, improves on earlier designs with an updated analog PLL driven by a low phase noise oscillator that reduces jitter to below a picosecond (trillionth of a second) that is far beyond human perception. As analog as digital can get!

Thoughtfully designed for focused listening
The allure of audiophile components is to create an exceptional listening experience. And while quality audio is the essential factor in creating that experience, it is not the only factor. That's why RME has equipped the ADI-2 DAC with a remote control that includes many of the most commonly used functions, such as turning loudness, parametric EQ and bass/treble on and off. Another feature that enhances the listening experience is the ADI-2 DAC's AutoDark mode, which was inspired by numerous requests from RME customers. When AutoDark mode is activated, backlit elements on the interface, such as function keys, volume control and the standby button, are turned off after 10 seconds of non-use. So your environment is free of distracting equipment lighting when you want to concentrate on the sound.
