Spector USA Custom Shop NS-2 4-string Super Faded Black

With Spector's rich history and impressive discographic appearance (from Metallica to Madonna), the brand really shouldn't be missing from our collection. We are therefore very pleased to kick off a new dealership with this iconic American bass guitar brand with this Spector Custom Shop bass. 

From the workshop just outside Woodstock (NY, USA), a small team of highly experienced and trained luthiers work on the finest Spector has to offer. All Custom Shop instruments are one-off, made in Spector tradition, with the finest materials and with the highest possible level of detailing.
Unique to the NS bass is the curved body shape; a fully curved body that was developed by Ned Steinberger in 1977. The goal was not only to build an excellent sounding bass guitar, but also to offer an instrument that is outstanding from the point of view of ergonomics and balance.

This NS-2 is a beautiful example of what the Custom Shop team can build and we are delited to present the following specifications of this bass;
The body is essentially a center block of a 3-piece, quarter-sawn flamed maple neck-thru construction with solid (non-weight relieved) red alder wings and a beautiful bookmatched quilted maple top. The body is finished with a Super Faded Black oil stain; a labor-intensive and time-consuming process in which the wood is colored with an oil. By sanding back and reapplying the color several times creates the 3D-like depth in the quilted maple and an exceptional, exclusive look.
The neck has a "thin neck shape" with a standard nut width of 41.6 mm / 1.64" and features an ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl 12th fret "crown inlay" and 24 frets. The standard scale of a 4-string NS-2 is 34".
To give the neck a luxurious, uniform look with the headstock, it features an ebony headstock overlay. The headstock is also features Mother of Pearl logo inlay.

The pickups in this NS-2 are a set of an EMG 35DC bridge pickup and an EMG SJ neck pickup. These are combined with an active Spector HAZ 9v pre-amp (controls; volume, pickup mix, bass and treble). The custom Spector bridge is made of lightweight aluminum and the tuners are Spector-branded USA Gotoh's. Included are Dunlop straplock and the original Spector hardcase.
