The Blackstar Artist FR Special is a compact, active FRFR monitor made for guitarists working with digital modellers, floorboards and multi-effects. It feels and reacts like a real guitar amp and reproduces your sounds exactly as they were intended; clear and vibrant!

Whereas many FRFR speakers are often large or designed primarily as PA monitors, the Artist FR Special is fully tuned for guitar. The specially designed 12-inch speaker with flat response and guitar-focused power amp deliver tight punch, dynamics and detail, while retaining the familiar "cabinet feel." With easy front panel controls, solid Blackstar build quality and an integrated monitor stand, this FRFR is an ideal partner for the home, studio or stage.

At the core of the Artist FR Special is a special design 12-inch speaker with flat response, fully tuned for guitar applications. Instead of a generic FRFR driver designed to reproduce everything, this speaker is tuned for the complex mid frequencies and fast transients of electric guitar sounds. The integrated whizzer-cone provides open, detailed treble without sharpness, allowing both clean sounds, crunch and heavily processed presets to retain their definition, even at higher volumes, without noise or loss of character.

The front panel offers clear and immediately usable controls for quick real-world adjustments. In addition to the master volume, the Artist FR Special features an active 3-band EQ tuned to guitar frequencies. This allows you to tune your sound effortlessly to different rooms, stages or monitor positions. The extended control range of the active EQ allows clear tonal changes without extreme settings. The Presence control gives extra control over the highs, so your sound cuts effortlessly through the mix while remaining smooth and musical.

The Artist FR Special is housed in a compact, rugged enclosure that is easy to transport and easy to integrate into any setup.
