The Base4Stands Sidekick Drum Kit Natural is a complete modular microphone stand kit for miking drums and other compact multi-mic setups. The set combines the Base4Stands Sidekick with three additional add-on arms measuring 12 inches, 16 inches, and 20 inches. This gives you four microphone arms right from a single central stand base.

The Sidekick forms the foundation of the kit and comes standard with a top-mounted 24-inch arm. The additional 12-inch, 16-inch, and 20-inch arms provide you with different lengths for positioning microphones around the drum kit. This allows you to adjust the setup based on the distance between the stand and the various parts of the kit.

Complete Sidekick Drum Kit
Thiskit consists of a Base4Stands Sidekick Natural, a 12-inch Add-on Arm Natural, a 16-inch Add-on Arm Natural, and a 20-inch Add-on Arm Natural. Use the different arms to create microphone positions around the snare, kick drum, toms, and hi-hat. In a suitable setup, each add-on arm can replace one traditional microphone stand. This allows you to build a compact drum setup with fewer stand legs and more space around the drummer.

Ideal on the snare side of the drum kit
The Sidekick is ideally suited for placement on thesnare side of a drum kit. From a single central base, you can position different arms toward the desired sound sources. This gives engineers a better overview of the drum kit and prevents a clutter of loose microphone stands among the drums, hardware, and cables. Especially during recording sessions, where microphones are frequently adjusted, a central modular setup makes the workflow more organized.

Three additional arm lengths for precise placement
The included 12-inch arm is 30.5 cm long and is suitable for compact microphone positions close to the stand. The 16-inch arm (40.6 cm) offers extra reach, while the 20-inch arm (50.8 cm) is suitable for sound sources farther from the Sidekick base. By combining the different lengths, you can set up the microphone arrangement around the kit without having all the arms extend unnecessarily far. The exact choice of arm depends on the Sidekick’s position relative to the sound source.

Secure Locking Without Exerting Force
Base4Stands’ arm connectors are designed to hold the arms securely in place. You don’t need to tighten the levers with much force to achieve a stable setup. The connectors grip firmly, preventing the arms from slowly sagging, rotating, or shifting during a recording. This provides extra reliability for a drum setup with multiple microphones. Once the microphones are in place, they stay put, so you don’t have to keep readjusting the arms during the session.

Four Microphone Arms from a Single Stand
The Sidekick comes standard with a 24-inch (61 cm) arm. With the three additional add-on arms included in this kit, you’ll have four different arms mounted on a single stand base: 12 inches, 16 inches, 20 inches, and 24 inches. This allows you to build a comprehensive multi-mic setup from a single central position. The modular design allows you to position the arms based on the recording source and the available space around the drum kit.

Fewer stands and more floor space
A traditional drum mic setup often requires multiple separate microphone stands. The Sidekick Drum Kit, on the other hand, is designed to combine different microphone positions on a single base. This saves space around the drum kit, makes cable routing more organized, and gives the drummer and engineer more room to move. It also makes it easier to move or reposition the entire setup.

Lightweight, yet sturdy in use
The Base4Stands Sidekick itself weighs 2.2 kg, has a maximum total height of 142 cm, and a maximum horizontal reach of 61 cm with the standard 24-inch arm. The stand is constructed of aluminum, with steel levers and rubber feet. Base4Stands does not use any plastic parts in the construction of its stands.

Available in natural
This kit is available in the color natural. The Sidekick and the 12-inch, 16-inch, and 20-inch add-on arms feature a natural aluminum finish with black connectors. This ensures that all parts of the kit match visually.

Why Base4Stands?

Stable 4-leg base
Base4Stands was developed for engineers, musicians, and technicians who want to position microphones quickly, securely, and precisely. The brand takes a different approach than traditional microphone stands. Instead of heavy round feet, counterweights, or a tangle of separate stands, Base4Stands uses a patented 4-leg base with modular arms. ([Base 4 Stands][1])

No counterweights or sandbags needed
The patented 4-leg base provides a stable foundation, even when multiple microphones are mounted and the arms are fully extended. This allows you to combine multiple microphone positions without sandbags or counterweights.

Oversized Jam Nut for precise positioning
The oversized Jam Nut is fluted and knurled for extra grip. This prevents microphone clamps and shock mounts from rotating unintentionally. Even small angle adjustments can be made quickly and accurately.

Modular system for greater flexibility
The modular system allows you to mount multiple arms, Stub Mounts, and accessories in various positions. A single stand can thus replace multiple conventional microphone stands. This saves floor space and provides greater control over complex microphone setups.

High-quality components without plastic
Base4Stands uses aluminum tubes and connectors, steel levers, and rubber feet. No plastic parts are used. The result is a lightweight yet sturdy tripod system for everyday use in the studio, on stage, and in any environment where microphones need to remain securely in place.
