The Beetronics Beebeedee is a delay pedal based on a Bucket Brigade circuit, driven by smart digital control. The analog character remains central, while the digital control allows for creative freedom and new angles.

Each sound subtly references classic delay sounds, while the functions actually invite experimentation. From short slapback echoes to erratic, almost chaotic pitch shifts, this pedal is instantly accessible, but offers enough depth to discover new sounds over and over again.

The Beebeedee features three separate delay modes: Classic, Lo-Fi and Pitch. In Classic Mode, you hear the familiar BBD delay sound as we know it: warm, organic and musical. This mode delivers up to 600 ms of delay with a smooth, undulating modulation that lets the repeats move naturally.

Lo-Fi Mode goes a step further and gives the BBD character a rawer edge. The repeats become darker and more unpredictable, with a slightly rustling, lively texture. The modulation here is deliberately irregular and affects not only the delay time and pitch, but also the TONE filter. As a result, the repeats continuously alternate between brighter and duller as they continue to float around.

In Pitch Mode, the delay turns into a creative instrument unto itself. The echoes shift pitch and create harmonies, rhythmic movements and surprising layers of sound. A gentle square-wave modulation controls the delay time in rhythmic steps, keeping the movement tight in tempo and feeling very responsive.

The pedal runs on a standard 9V DC power supply (adapter not included) and has a power consumption of approximately 200 mA.
