The BOSS GE-7 is a graphic equalizer with a 7-Band EQ from 100Hz to 6.4kHz. Ideal for guitars with a boost/cut of around 15DB per band. This gives you complete control over your sound and eliminates unwanted feedback.
Why an EQ?
An EQ is one of the most useful tools in your arsenal because it can drastically change your sound with in many ways. The most common way is in the effects loop. Here we can use an EQ to change the entire sound character of the amp to better match the band/studio setting or remove unwanted frequencies, and add more desirable ones. Here an EQ can also be used as a solo boost, thus allowing you to bring out only the necessary frequencies.
An EQ can also be used to adjust the sound of your guitar by placing it at the front of the signal-chain. A single-coil that sounds a little too sharp, or a humbucker with too much low? Solve it with an EQ.
