The long-awaited successor to the popular RT-20 offers the same comprehensive features, but in a more compact size that takes up less space on your pedalboard. Everything that made the RT-20 beloved is back: adjustable rotor speeds, a tube-like overdrive and the ability to precisely tune the balance level between horn and bass rotor. This allows you to create exactly the spacious sound you're looking for. Thanks to the updated virtual rotor display, you can also see at a glance the rotation of the simulated speakers.

Rotary simulation in a compact pedal size
The sound of a classic Leslie speaker is deeply rooted in music history. What began as an essential component of the Hammond organ in the 1950s and 1960s found its way into the guitars of legendary artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix in the decades that followed. Icons such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Soundgarden also used the rotary effect to add depth to their guitar sound. The Boss RT-2 Rotary Ensemble brings this iconic sound to life with precise and flexible control of the virtual rotors. Whereas traditional Leslie cabinets like the 122, 147 and 981 often offered only one or two speeds, the RT-2 lets you set slow and fast rotor speeds separately with two rotary knobs. The virtual high and low frequency drivers accelerate and decelerate realistically like the original motors. Thanks to adjustable rise and fall times, you control how fast the rotors rise or fall. Even the Brake function lets the rotation come to a natural stop, adding a subtle airy character to your sound.

Big sound possibilities in a compact pedal
The RT-2 takes up no more space than a standard pedal from the Boss Compact series, but offers a surprising amount of customization options. Via two double potentiometers you can adjust the rotation speed and the amount of drive, among other things, to give your sound that extra edge. A switch lets you choose from three modes, each with its own character: from classic rotary to an intense modulated effect with enormous width. On the back of the pedal you will find additional tone controls. Do you want more sparkle in the highs or more low? Then flip the Drive Knob switch, and your drive knob turns into a balance control between horn and bass rotor frequency. So you have all the essential rotary settings at your fingertips in one rugged pedal housing.

More control than you think
A true rotary effect only comes to life with a wide stereo image. That's why the Boss RT-2 has stereo outputs, so you can fully immerse yourself in the rotary sound. The multifunction footswitch does more than just on/off: hold it down to switch between slow and fast. Want even more control? Connect an external footswitch or expression pedal through the Speed input and control speed or other functions in real time.
