Crazy Tube Circuits White Whale V2: a reverb/tremolo pedal with a real reverb tank equipped with 3 springs and a full analog tremolo.
The updated version features an improved power amplifier, offering more headroom and a wider frequency range. The dwell control has been further refined, allowing you to more precisely adjust the amount of signal going to the springs. Higher dwell settings also mimic typical tube saturation.
Choose between a short, subtle reverb, a medium to long 2-spring reverb, or a longer, fuller reverb with the 3-spring tank. The tone control affects only the reverb signal, for lively, "dripping" or soft reverb tones. The mix control allows you to set the desired balance between wet (effect) and dry (guitar signal). Since a high reverb mix can sometimes get lost in the mix, there is a volume control that allows you to boost the signal up to 20 dB.
The tremolo has also been further improved and now includes a harmonic tremolo, in addition to the classic opto and tube bias mode. This hypnotic effect, derived from certain brown and blonde amps, switches between high and low frequencies. Both main variations of harmonic tremolo are now available in this pedal. The depth setting determines the intensity of the modulation, while the speed control has a wider range to maximize your creativity. The volume control even amplifies the signal during the strongest tremolo.
Another major improvement in the White Whale V2 is that the two effect sections now work completely independently of each other, and you can control the order of the effects. For example, optical and tube bias tremolos often sound best when placed after the reverb, while harmonic tremolos usually sound better before the reverb.
In addition, the pedal has an input for external switches that allow you to control the bypass state of each effect separately. A dual footswitch is available separately for this purpose. The reverb mix can also be adjusted with an expression pedal, and the speed of the tremolo can be controlled with an expression pedal or an external tap tempo footswitch.
