D'addario is the right choice if you are looking for a clear "brightness" and when prefer a powerful string tension. With the hexagonal carbon steel core drawn with exceptional precision, the nickel-plated windings have a good grip resulting in a string that intonates well and stays in tune. With its distinctive brightness, D'addario strings sound like new for a relatively long time.

This "medium" set contains the following gauges: 011-014-018-028-038-049. EXL115's are suitable for all types of electric guitars and we recommend using this thickness in regular E tuning when you're after more string tension. For example for guitars with a relatively short scale (like Les Pauls) or when you simply like to play with a heavier grip. 11's are perfect as well when tuning a half or whole step down.
The six strings are easily distinguished by the iconic color code used by D'addario.
