D'addario is the right choice if you are looking for a clear "brightness" and when prefer a powerful string tension. With the hexagonal carbon steel core drawn with exceptional precision, the nickel-plated windings have a good grip resulting in a string that intonates well and stays in tune. With its distinctive brightness, D'addario strings sound like new for a relatively long time.

This "super light" set contains the following gauges: 009-011-016-024-032-042. Along with 010's, this is the most commonly used thickness for electric guitars. We recommend using this size of strings with regular E tuning when you are looking for a smooth bending string. This thickness is a good fit for guitars with a relatively long scale of 25.5" like Fender Strats or Tele's. If you play guitars that have a relatively short scale (like Les Pauls), try thicker strings like 010 or 011!
The six strings are easily distinguished by the iconic color code used by D'addario.
