D'Addario XS is the latest development in coated guitar strings! The XS coating of these XSAPB1047 strings is 10x thinner than a human hair and protects the complete string from grease and dirt, even in the windings. D'Addario XS strings have a smooth playing feel and produce less finger noise while playing. They may be the most innovative coated strings ever made!

The ultra-thin XS coating is applied to each wound string. The high strings have had a unique polymer treatment so that the entire set lasts significantly longer and the strings retain their tone better! Thus, not only the wound strings last longer but also the high strings. You won't even feel the coating while playing!

The core of the wound strings is made of hexagonal NY Steel with high carbon content. This allows the strings to maintain their tuning better and break less easily. At the ball-end of the string, D'Addario uses their Fusion-Twist technique to create a better connection to the ball-end.
