Developed for 5-string bass guitars, D'Addario XTB45130 XT Nickel bass strings offer a powerful, bright sound with long life. Thanks to the ultra-thin and abrasion-resistant XT coating, each string is protected from corrosion while maintaining a natural playing feel. The coating is barely noticeable and does not affect tone or response. You experience the feel of an uncoated nickelwound string, with the benefits of extra protection.
This Regular Light 5-string longscale set with thicknesses .045 - .065 - .080 - .100 - .130 is ideal for bassists who combine a low B string with balanced tension across the neck. The set offers instant response, clear definition in the low end and an even playing experience across all strings. The core of the XT series consists of high carbon NY steel. This material provides high tensile strength and elasticity. Compared to traditional bass strings, these strings are up to 42% stronger and stay in tune up to 131% better. The Fusion Twist technology at the bale end increases stability and reduces the risk of string breakage. Even during heavy use and live performances, the strings remain stable in tune.
The nickel plated steel winding features improved magnetic properties. This results in higher output and a wider dynamic range. The sound is clear with sufficient warmth and balance. Suitable for diverse musical styles such as rock, pop, soul and funk, where definition in the low end and control in the midrange are important.

The updated XT nanocoating is the thinnest and most abrasion-resistant coating in D'Addario's range. Each string is first drawn, then coated and then wound. This manufacturing process ensures even protection over the entire string. Other manufacturers apply the coating only after the string is completely manufactured. This treatment makes the strings last up to three times longer than conventional uncoated bass strings and keeps them sounding fresher longer. Ideal for bassists who rehearse or perform a lot and want to change less often.
The set comes in resealable and recyclable VCI packaging with a unique code for registration within D'Addario's Players Circle program. Production takes place in the New York factory to strict quality standards.
