Scrolls was designed in collaboration with Japan's one and only master of bass tone; Kentaro Nakao! Scrolls is a powerful, modern tool that can shape the organic input signal of any bass to match the sound profile of virtually any bass/amplifier combination you can think of.
On the right side of Scrolls you will find a Drive section with a versatile, tube amp-like distortion. Important within this Drive section are the Blend knob, which allows you to adjust the amount of clean signal in the distorted signal, and the position of the Bandwidth knob, which determines where clipping is most present (lower frequencies counterclockwise and higher frequencies clockwise).

On the left side of Scrolls is a full set of active audio quality EQ controls, including Bass, Middle and Treble. The secret weapon of Scrolls' EQ section is the Variable Frequency control, which allows you to attenuate or boost frequencies from about 20 Hz to 10 kHz; ideal for reducing muddy lows and emphasizing high frequencies. Within the EQ section, you'll also find three pushbuttons that are powerful tools for quick tone shaping at the touch of a button.
The buffered Parallel Out allows you to send a clean signal to an external destination. Internally, the Drive signal enters the chain first and then runs through to the EQ. Between the Drive and EQ is an effects loop, which allows you to place modulation effects after the Drive section in your chain, while still retaining all the tone-shaping capabilities of the EQ section at the end of your chain.
Scrolls can be connected directly to your bass amp via the jack output, or you can use the balanced XLR output to send Scrolls directly to the front-of-house for an ampless show, or directly to your recording interface for ampless recording. The XLR output includes subtle analog filtering to make the sound more like that of a speaker cabinet in situations without an amplifier.
