The Fender Custom Shop Artisan collection offers guitars featuring the finest hand-selected woods with custom components and expert craftsmanship, resulting in a truly fascinating Fender Custom Shop creation.

Of the entire Artisan collection, however, this Korina Tele is the subtle one; no flashy exotic woods are used on this one but plain yet luxurious Artisan features . The basis of this model is the thinline body made of selected korina. This light and fine-grained West African mahogany looks nice and has sound qualities comparable to Western mahogany variants. Perhaps mostly famed for being used on old-school Les Paul Juniors, the wood delivers a warm, bass-friendly tone and a sweet, responsive midrange. These qualities in turn complement the open, resonant tone of the two-piece semi-hollow body, which features a single f-hole and a Natural NOS lacquer finish. No artificial aging to be found on this Custom Shop!

The quarter-sawn maple neck has a comfortable '60-style Oval "C" profile and is "roasted" for even more sustain and stability, topped with a compound-radius (9.5"-12") round-laminated rosewood fingerboard with 21 jumbo (6100) frets and a bone nut. The Custom Shop hand-wound '50/'51 Blackguard bridge pickup is a faithful recreation of the early 50's Blackguard Telecaster pickup, with extra-large alnico 3 magnets wrapped with thinner wire to produce that sweet retro Tele tone - perfectly balanced with the versatility and musicality of the Custom Shop P90 neck pickup.

Other premium features include "Dual-Stack" HS Tele wiring, three-way pickup switch, single-ply brown shell pickguard, '58-'63 Tele bridge with Custom Shop RSD (Research Special Design) compensated brass saddles, vintage-style tuners, wing string tree, deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
