Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom 1959 Stratocaster NOS, Faded Aged Sonic Blue RW

In 1959, the Stratocaster received a number of significant innovations. These included a rosewood fingerboard in "slab" design with clay-colored position markings, a three-ply mint green pickguard with 8, 9 or 10 screws (depending on the month of production) and a metal spacer at the string tree. With the Vintage Custom '59 Hardtail Stratocaster, the ladies and gentlemen of the Fender Custom Shop have managed to accurately and authentically reproduce those distinctive innovations that the Strat received in the legendary year of 1959.

TIMELESS COOL CLASSIC

This hardtail version was quite rare at the time, which significantly increases its collector's value as well as its cool factor. This guitar has a carefully selected two-piece body of alder and a rift-sawn maple neck with a 1959 "D" profile. The fingerboard has a vintage compound radius (7.25" - 9.5") and features 21 medium vintage frets.

Totally in keeping with the zeitgeist, the hand-wound 1959 Strat pickups are connected to a vintage '59 control assembly with a five-way switch. This is the familiar NOS version (New Old Stock). So no artificial aging or relic on body or neck, but still "that new guitar looks and smell". The Closet Classic hardware finish makes it look like the guitar has been waiting for you in its case for years. Other core features include the three-ply mint green pickguard with eight screws, a vintage-style hardtail bridge with "patent pending" saddles, vintage-style tuners, a bone nut and a wing string tree with metal spacer.

The guitar comes with a Deluxe Custom Shop hardshell case, guitar strap and a certificate of authenticity.
