Fulltone OCD Germanium

The Fulltone OCD Germanium is a variation of the well-known world-famous white version; the Fulltone OCD. This Obsessive Compulsive Drive is a very transparent and open sounding Overdrive/Distortion that responds fantastically to the dynamics of your playing. A soft touch results in a mild drive, while a firm touch provides a delicious dose of overdrive. Exactly as you would expect from a good tube amp.

This OCD Germanium pedal is the only pedal that uses 2 x Mosfets configured as hard-clipping to 'Voltage reference' instead of the usual way: to ground. The earliest OCDs used 2 x Mosfets plus 1 x Germanium diode, but soon these diodes became harder and harder to find, and they became expensive.

Recently Fulltone stumbled upon a fairly large stock of the right kind of Germanium diodes. So Fulltone decided to put out the ultimate OCD: a Custom Shop version with a few switch tweaks with 2 x Mosfets plus 2 x Germanium diodes, and a damn fine paint job.... Metallic Teal with a chrome undercoat! This beauty morphs between blue and green depending on the light and angle. And what would the ultimate OCD be without a blue LED?

The sound? Great definition, more tube feel, a slightly wider dynamic range, more sustain and a more focused one-note tone. And as with all Fulltone pedals.... 100% made in the USA.
You can use the OCD Germanium with a standard 9V power supply, but also with 18V for more dynamics and headroom.
