Lovers of lightsabers and neon beware! With the Gamechanger Audio Plasma Pedal, it is now possible to harness the power of plasma for your music creation and sound design. The Plasma Pedal converts your audio signal into a beam of "high voltage" (a harmless 3.5 kV) in a xenon-filled vacuum tube. Due to the speed and nature of this beam-generation, the signals acquire an extremely percussive, irregular and highly harmonic form of audio distortion. With this, the character varies from a smooth vocal sustain to a harsh fuzzy chaotic disorder. Tasty!

Standard gain, EQ and output controls offer control over the Plasma pedal's distortion and fuzz characteristics. There's even a wet-dry Blend control to ensure your source audio remains intact as you crank up the intensity. Aside from its unique tonal imprint, the Plasma Pedal's real-time beam-generation is a fun way to visualize your audio in special ways.

Science
Gamechanger's Plasma Pedal is unlike almost any other drive, boost and distortion pedal on the market. Instead of the familiar clipping diodes, driven tubes or transistors to achieve breakup, the Plasma Pedal converts your audio signal into a sort of series of continuous high-voltage discharges within a xenon-filled vacuum tube. These discharges are immediately converted back to an analog signal that is full of sticky harmonics and otherworldly distortion artifacts.

But what does that tube do?
The charged xenon tube in the Plasma Pedal is not a fake puppet. It is used to process your signal. The beam generated is your input audio - be it a guitar riff, synth lead or bass line - rendered as an electric discharge, enriched with harmonics and hard-gating characteristics that make your pieces really stand out in a mix. The included tube is good for about 70,000 hours of playing time. Replacements are readily available, by the way, in case of damage along the way.

Hard clipped distortion
This pedal goes from somber and chaotic to smooth and psychedelic. It provides any incoming audio signal, be it guitar, bass, keys or drums, with the chaos and unpredictability of an electric bolt. A fine control on the Plasma pedal is the wet/dry Blend control. This lets you get articulation and color in ways that traditional fuzzes and drives never can.

Many effects devices can claim to be game changers, but with the Plus and Plasma units, Gamechanger Audio from Latvia has truly earned that title. With these never-before-seen FX units, musicians from all directions - from guitar to bass to synthesizer - can interact with their music in new and exciting ways.

Plasma Pedal

The Plasma Pedal is a revolutionary approach within the realm of overdrive and distortion, as it is a new and previously unexplored method of achieving signal clipping. Instead of using LED circuits, transistors or vacuum tubes to produce overdrive, the Plasma Pedal transforms your instrument's live signal into a series of continuous high-voltage discharges within a xenon-filled tube.

So essentially, you're playing with a lightning bolt of electricity, and the electrical discharges produced by your instrument are instantly converted back into an analog audio signal, resulting in fast, responsive and extremely heavy distortion with plenty of unique character!
