The Hiwatt Pedalsmith 50 Head is the big brother of the Pedalsmith 30 and based on the iconic DR504 circuit from the 1970s. This legendary design was made famous by bands such as The Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, and is still used today by artists such as IDLES and Russian Circles. The Pedalsmith 50 retains the classic Normal/Brilliant channels and High/Low inputs, but adds modern features like a silent FX loop and internally looped inputs. So you get the full Hiwatt sound, but with the flexibility today's guitarists need.

Set to clean, the Pedalsmith 50 is a true high-headroom pedal platform, ideal for any combination of effects and pedals. With tremendous clarity and definition, you always maintain control of your sound. When you push the amp into overdrive, it delivers the recognizable Hiwatt crunch and tube compression, without drowning out your guitar tone.

The FX loop is designed to be quiet and transparent: with no extra noise and without affecting your tone. As a result, modulation, delay and reverb effects remain crystal clear and tight in the mix even at higher gain settings.
