Hiwatt Super-Hi 50 Head

The Hiwatt Super-Hi 50 Head combines Hiwatt's legendary, crisp and dynamic output stage with a preamp that is all about modern high-gain power. Based on the Custom Super-Hi designed by amplifier guru Mike Fortin - this amp is built to be the ultimate gain machine. The result: a brutal sound architecture that sounds both tight and aggressive, without sacrificing definition.

The amp features two separate channels, each with its own gain and volume controls. On top of that comes the independent Super-Hi boost, which can push both channels to a fourth level of pure overdrive. This gives you instant access to four gain and volume modes, ranging from thick crunch to absolute meltdown.

To keep modulation- and time-based effects clear, the Super-Hi 50 is equipped with a silent and transparent post-preamp FX loop. This ensures that your delays, reverbs and chorus effects always stay tight in the mix, even at extremely high gain settings.

The Super-Hi 50 delivers 50 watts of power through two EL34 tubes, known for their high headroom, fast response and typical British punch. The 4x ECC83 tubes in the preamp provide a layered, rich and aggressive gain character. The Depth control (resonance) lets you fine-tune the low end to your cabinet and playing style.

Not for nothing did artists like Josh Elmore (Cattle Decapitation), Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem) and Ben McLeod (All Them Witches) find their way to the Hiwatt Super-Hi: this is a true gain monster, now accessible in a more compact and affordable package.
