The Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer is an overdrive effect pedal. The first Tube Screamer overdrive pedals were produced by Ibanez back in 1982. And still an immense success due to their high-quality tube sound with sparkling mids. The TS9 has been used by celebrities such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Trey Anastasio.
The Tube Screamer is often used in blues, jazz and rock in combination with a clean amp channel for the popular tube sound and the extra boost in the mids.
The TS9 came out in the early 80's, a heyday for heavy metal. Guitarists in this genre discovered by combining the TS9 with other overdrives that this gave a much fuller distortion characteristic.
Produced again by Ibanez since 1992, the TS9 is loyal to the original design. You can experience the same authentic sound of the 1982 version in this reissue. Also in the TS9 of today is a very high quality chip that gives it its characteristic features. The TS9 features a tone, level and overdrive knob and a larger foot stomp knob than its predecessor, the TS808. The pedal has the classic Ibanez look of the early 80s!
