The MIDI Solutions Footswitch Controller has a 1/4" jack input for connection to a footswitch or contact closure that can be used to trigger MIDI events. Triggered MIDI events are merged with incoming MIDI messages and sent to the MIDI output of the Footswitch Controller.
Types of triggered events are programmable and include:
- Note
- Control Change
- Pitch Bend
- Program Change
- Start/Stop
- System Exclusive
Other functions include:
- Program Change INC/DEC
- Rechannelize
- Transpose
- Tap Tempo
- Note-On Filter
The MIDI Echo and Footswitch Toggle parameters are selectable on/off.
The polarity of the footswitch can be automatically determined at power-up or programmed to normal-open or normal-closed. It is also possible to have the Footswitch Controller display the status of the footswitch immediately upon power-up, rather than waiting for the footswitch to be pressed.
The Footswitch Controller is programmed by sending MIDI System Exclusive messages. This is easily done with the MIDI Solutions Programming Tools software. Once programmed, the settings are retained even after the power is turned off. The Footswitch Controller can be reprogrammed with new settings as many times as needed.
The Footswitch Controller is MIDI powered and requires no batteries or power to operate with most MIDI products. A MIDI indicator LED lights up when the product is powered and flashes when MIDI data passes through it.
