MXR M233 Micro Amp +

The MXR Micro Amp has long been one of our favorite boosters. Or rather; "line driver", because actually the Micro Amp is a pre amp with a very high overdrive ceiling (headroom) and a transparent and broadband amplification that for this reason can be used in the broadest sense of a booster. And above all; works very well at various positions in your signal chain.

More simply put, you are looking for;

• A good volume / solo booster that you want to connect before your amp (before the pre amp of your amp so), or;
• A second master volume functionality in an amp's FX loop, or;
• A gain booster to give your favorite ripping pedals an extra kick in the tail, or;
• A compensation for that one guitar that has less output than the rest....

Then this is the pedal for you.

But...MXR has given the already old Micro Amp some extra tools in a Custom Shop version that makes its application a factor of 10 more versatile! It's actually quite simple, but very handy and effective; this Micro Amp + has been equipped with a 2-band EQ -treble and bass- which makes this pedal not only function as a booster in the broadest sense of the word, but with which you can now also add coloring so that it really works as an enhancer. This makes the Micro Amp + (compared to the regular Micro Amp) also suitable for much more subtle and sensitive audio processing. Finally!

Works with any regular 9vDC power supply; Centre negative and consumes only a few mA.
