The MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe is an effect pedal for bass guitar that superimposes two octave voices over the signal. The effects are separately controllable and are both one octave below the bass guitar sound. The Growl knob controls the raw, chilly sub octave sound and the Girth knob sets the deep and round sounding sub octave.
The Girth and Growl knobs of the Bass Octave Deluxe control the extent to which you want to mix the octave voices with the original signal. The dry knob controls the ratio of the effect to the original sound. To add some more power to the bass sound in the mix, you can boost the mid frequencies using the MID+ knob. Inside the pedal, you can also control the power and frequency range of the boost. The Bass Octave Deluxe offers great headroom AND follows your playing without a hitch!
