The Peavey Decade Too Preamp is a raw-sounding pedal-sized preamp based on the iconic Peavey Decade guitar amp from the early 1980s. This amp quietly gained cult status among guitarists looking for an unpolished, aggressive tone full of character and saturation. The Decade was also Josh Homme's "secret weapon" on the iconic Queens Of The Stone Age album: Songs For The Dead.

The pedal is an accurate reconstruction of the original 1980 circuit and captures the full character of the original amp. The switchable Saturation mode acts as a second channel and delivers rich, harmonic overdrive at the touch of a button. Thanks to pre- and post-gain controls, a sensitive 3-band EQ and a true-bypass switch with click suppression, the pedal integrates effortlessly into any signal chain.

Through a standard 9V adapter (not included) , the internal circuit is boosted to 24V, providing extra headroom and dynamics. Exactly like the original.

The Decade Too Preamp is part of Peavey's Legacy Preamp Series. While other manufacturers try to reproduce these legendary sounds, Peavey remains the only one to provide the original. Each pedal is built with high-quality components, from sturdy die-cast housing to durable fiberglass circuit boards with gold-plated grommets and premium switches and potentiometers. Every detail - from controls to looks - is true to the classic Decade, but without the weight of a full amp.
