The Emperor SMT Coated is a pre-damped bass drum head featuring Sub Muffl Technology. The head consists of two layers of coated Mylar—7-mil and 5-mil—and features an externally mounted dampening ystem with free-floating acoustic foam. This produces a powerful, deep bass sound with a clear attack and controlled high and mid-range tones, without sacrificing the bass drum’s natural resonance. Thanks to its wide tuning range and versatile tone, the Emperor SMT Coated is ideal for both live performances and studio recordings.
