The RME Fireface UCX II is a professional audio interface. It is equipped with 20 inputs and 20 outputs. Eight of these inputs and outputs are analogue and the rest go through digital formats such as ADAT, S/PDIF and AES/EBU. The audio interface can be connected to a PC or Mac via a USB 2.0 cable

The sound quality is outstanding, thanks in part to the SteadyClock FS technology. The UCX II has a DuRec port on the back: this allows you to record audio directly and play it back from a USB stick. This is very handy for backup recording or a virtual sound check!

The Fireface UCX II is fully Class Compliant. This means that you can use this interface directly on every PC or Mac without having to install a driver. However, if you want to make use of all the functions, you will have to install a driver. And RME is known for it: stable and fast drivers. They are also regularly updated by RME, so even with a new operating system there is no need to worry: your audio interface will still work (this is certainly not always the case with other manufacturers). RME interfaces come with TotalMix DSP for free: this is the software mixer which you use to control the internal routing and to make monitor mixes. This mixer and the associated effects run entirely on the chips of the Fireface UCX II interface so there is no extra load on your computer.
