Soundboks Rider

The Soundboks Rider is a compact, portable Bluetooth party speaker that combines high volume with a lightweight design and long battery life. With a maximum sound level of 118 dB, an 8-inch woofer, and a 1.2-inch tweeter, the Rider delivers plenty of power for parties, sports activities, trips, the park, the beach, and other occasions when you want to play music without a fixed power source.

Weighing just 6.5 kg and measuring 35 x 24 x 20 cm, the Rider is the most compact speaker in the Soundboks series. The built-in handle makes it easy to carry, and the mounting point allows you to attach the optional Soundboks Strap 2.0. This makes the speaker ideal for situations where you frequently change locations.

118 dB from a compact enclosure
Despite its compact size, the Soundboks Rider achieves a maximum sound level of 118 dB. The 2-way speaker system consists of a 20.3 cm woofer and a 3.05 cm tweeter. The effective frequency range extends from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, allowing the Rider to reproduce low frequencies as well as midrange and high frequencies. The internal amplification consists of two Texas Instruments Class-D amplifier channels in a PBTL configuration. In addition, the Rider utilizes Soundboks Adaptive Bass Enhancer DSP. This digital processing enhances bass reproduction and ensures that the sound remains controlled even at higher volumes.

Made for indoor and outdoor use
The Rider is designed for more than just home use. The entire speaker has an IP66 rating, making it protected against dust and powerful water jets. The enclosure is constructed from ABS and polycarbonate and features silicone corner guards all around to protect vulnerable parts of the speaker from impacts during transport and use. The front features a removable steel grille, which can be taken off for cleaning or customization. The combination of its compact size, protected corners, and IP66 rating makes the Rider suitable for use in places such as a garden, park, campground, or during sports activities.

Up to 35 hours of playtime with th
The Soundboks Rider comes with the replaceable Soundboks Battery. This LiFePO4 battery has a voltage of 12.8 volts, a capacity of 7.8 Ah, and an energy content of 99.84 Wh. At an average volume level, playtime is up to approximately 35 hours. At maximum volume, the Rider can play for about 8 hours. Because the battery is removable, a second battery can be installed when longer playtime is needed. The battery features a five-step LED indicator for checking the remaining charge. It also includes protections against short circuits and overheating. Additionally, it can provide up to 10 watts of USB Power Delivery output via USB-C. The battery can be charged via USB-C. With the appropriate Soundboks Charger, a full charge takes approximately two hours.

Bluetooth and AUX
For wireless music playback, the Rider features Bluetooth 4.2. A phone, tablet, or other Bluetooth audio source can be paired directly with the speaker. For devices you prefer to connect via a cable, a 3.5 mm AUX input is available. The controls on the speaker itself have been deliberately kept simple. The control panel includes the power button, volume control, and LED indicators for volume and Bluetooth. The Rider does not have a Soundboks Pro Panel and does not feature SKAA TeamUP. The model was designed as a standalone, portable speaker with a focus on quick connection and playback.

Soundboks App
The Soundboks App gives you additional control over the Rider. You can select different sound profiles and adjust the EQ to your liking. This allows you to tailor the sound to the location and the type of music. The app also provides features for volume control, Bluetooth management, PIN-based security, and firmware updates. The speaker can be disconnected or turned off remotely. New firmware can be installed via the app to update features and audio performance.

Compact size for on the go
A key difference from larger party speakers is its portable size. The Rider measures just 35 cm high, 24 cm wide, and 20 cm deep. Including the battery, it weighs 6.5 kg. This means the speaker can be carried with one hand and takes up very little space in a car, RV, or at home. For longer distances, the optional Soundboks Strap 2.0 can be used. This adjustable carrying strap attaches to the Rider’s mounting point and is sold separately.

Replaceable Soundboks Battery
The Rider uses the same replaceable battery design as the other portable Soundboks models. The included battery can be quickly removed from the speaker and replaced. This is especially convenient when the speaker is used for extended periods in locations without an outlet. An extra battery can be purchased separately. The Soundboks Charger and Strap 2.0 are also available separately.
