The LC136 is Tokai's luxurious but also very affordable series from the collection of professional Japanese guitars and a true "workin' man's boutique guitar". The LP Custom remains an icon and Tokai nailed the looks, sound and finish with this LC136 (oof...pretty that Wine Red!) and the guitar sounds remarkably resonant and rich in tone!
The body is made of a two-piece mahogany body and a two-piece mahogany top as befits a Custom! This includes the block inlays, headstock binding, and the beautiful inlay on the headstock. This Tokai LC136 is finished in poly urethane lacquer. The neck is a one-piece mahony set neck with a medium thickness (slightly thicker than a Gibson 60's style) with a comfortable asymmetrical U profile, a rosewood fingerboard, and a bone nut. Both the tuners (Kluson style) and bridge (Tune-O-Matic style) are Tokai's own manufacture as are the vintage PAF style MK2S humbuckers. The switch and jack are from Switchcraft.
