A nice tube amp you just want to turn it bellowing loud to get that tube saturation, but sound techs and neighbors can sometimes think this is not such a good idea. The Two Notes Torpedo Captor X + offers you the ability to turn your amp full open (and much more), without kicking the people around you in the wrong way.

The Torpedo Captor X+ takes the signal from your amp and offers an identical resistance as your speaker would. After this resistance, we can reset the signal you pass to the speaker so that the actual volume is a lot less. So: perfect tube saturation without also generating extreme decibels! And who wouldn't want that?

The second function of the Torpedo Captor X + is possibly the most interesting for recording, live and home applications. Namely, it allows you to load, select and fine-tune high-end and highly flexible IRs (impulse response). Choose your own mic postitions, speaker cabinets and even the actual microphone used to get a studio worthy tone on stage, in the living room or in the studio. And now with the new + version in full stereo.

  • 100w powersoak
  • Full stereo IRs
  • Tone shaping with app
  • Balanced XLR out
  • Headphone function for home

Control your sound!

Whether you want to avoid heavy cabinets, temper the volume on stage, suffer from changing microphone placements or struggle with impractical recording setups, the CaptorX + is the ultimate total solution. Connect it directly to a PA system, audio interface or headphones and experience your tube amp at its very best.

One box, endless possibilities

The Captor X + is more than a reactive load box - it's a versatile multi-tool full of functions. Set your amp to the ideal volume and take full control of your cabinet's output with the built-in 3-stage attenuator. Ditch the cabinet altogether and let the Virtual Load Shaper and DynIRâ„¢ engine take center stage for a truly silent setup. Need to turn your 100-watt beast up to full volume but keep the neighbors happy? No problem - plug in your headphones and dive into the Captor X+'s immersive headphone experience. Add studio-quality DSP effects, quick-access VOICE and SPACE controls, and a full arsenal of front-panel encoders to instantly set the most crucial parameters of your sound - and you're ready for total control at your fingertips.

All the power, at your fingertips

Link the Captor X+ to your phone, tablet or computer via Torpedo Remote and dive deep into every editable parameter. Shape your rig with 32 carefully selected DynIRâ„¢ virtual cabinets, each equipped with 8 microphones and 13 room simulations. Store up to 128 presets, with 6 quick-access slots directly on the hardware.

Virtual Load Shaper

This is new territory: the Virtual Load Shaper offers a selection of preset output impedance curves that allow you to vary the processed direct sound of your loadbox. Listen to the results directly through the XLR outputs or headphones, and choose from expert-created options - or your own custom profile - that add warmth, tighten bass or emphasize bite. The result? A versatile tone toolkit that lets you select the perfect character for your direct feed - studio-quality, ready for recording, monitoring or straight to the FOH.

True Stereo DynIRâ„¢ engine

At the heart of the Captor X+ is a True Stereo DynIRâ„¢ engine, which gives musicians independent control over two microphones or static IRs within the stereo field. Route these directly to your outputs to create an immersive, three-dimensional soundstage.

Discover DynIRâ„¢

Two Notes' revolutionary DynIRâ„¢ engine offers the very best in modern cabinet emulation, capturing the nuances and realism of 160,000 IRs in one flexible ecosystem. Each of the Captor X+'s 32 included virtual cabinets features 8 industry-standard microphones, dual microphone options and more than 10,000 possible microphone positions to explore. The result is studio-quality sound with the authenticity, flexibility and immediacy of a real, mic-equipped cabinet.

Twin Tracker

Twin Tracker is a pioneering stereo double tracking prodigy that lets you send your mono amp sound to the left XLR output, while our DSP creates a proxy - or "Virtual Guitarist" - in real time on the right channel.

Reverb, redefined

From sleek studio ambience to cathedral-like spaciousness, the Captor X+'s DSP-powered reverbs are a masterpiece in dimension. With a proprietary low-latency algorithm, 12 quick-set space modes and an advanced Custom mode for in-depth adjustments, this is the ultimate, easy-to-use reverb solution to take your sound to the next level.
