The Fundamental Delay gives you the core sounds of delay effects. With three delay algorithms, you can go from crisp digital feedback to analog delay emulation, and even reverse your trails.

The Time slider controls the speed of delayed delays. The Feedback slider controls the number of repeats. The Mix slider controls the ratio of the effect to the original, clean signal. All the way to the left gives a completely clean signal, all the way to the right you hear only the delay repeats.

The slider switch lets you switch between three different delay algorithms:

  • Digital: adds a bright, rhythmic delay to your signal with transparent delays.
  • Analog: adds a filtered and slightly distorted delay to your signal, designed to mimic the characteristics of bucket-brigade delay chips.
  • Reverse: adds reverse trails to your signal, allowing you to create subtle melodies or experiment with reverse feedback overload.

Tap Mode:
To activate tap mode, hold down the bypass footswitch until the LED begins to flash. Once it flashes, tap mode is active and the footswitch will only function as a tap tempo until tap mode is turned off. While tap mode is active, adjusting the program slider only changes the subdivision of the tap control, not the delay program. To turn off tap mode, hold down the bypass again until the LED is back to a constant white light. The pedal remembers the set tempo until it is adjusted again via the time control or by tapping in a new tempo.

Trails mode:
The delay comes with trails mode enabled by default. To disable it, hold down the bypass footswitch while powering the pedal. When the LED flashes, it means trails mode is disabled. To turn trails mode back on, repeat this process and wait until the LED turns off; this indicates that trails mode is active again.
With trails mode enabled, the delay repeats naturally die out after you turn off the pedal. With trails mode disabled, the effect stops abruptly as soon as you turn off the pedal.

For the Fundamental series, the team at Walrus Audio challenged themselves to design a series of pedals with the tonal integrity required for a professional pedalboard setup, but with simplified controls that are also friendly to novice effects pedal users. Each Fundamental pedal has three sliders to adjust the sound and a three-way switch to switch between modes. The result is a series of pedals that will support you from your first band rehearsal to a sold-out arena. Designed and assembled by Walrus Audio in Oklahoma City, USA.
