Yamaha FC-4A

The Yamaha FC-4A is a spoon-shaped pedal that is generally used for sustain. The pedal is specially designed so that it feels equivalent to the right pedal of a real acoustic piano. If the pedal is connected to the Sustain jack, you can simulate the action of the sustain pedal of an acoustic piano on your digital piano or keyboard. When the pedal is pressed, the piano's tone will continue to sound after you release the key. The Yamaha FC-4A is a solid weighted pedal that has a stable location. The rubber mat on the bottom prevents the pedal from slipping.

External function pedal
Although the FC-4A is generally used as a sustain pedal because of its shape, it can also be used as an external function pedal. The switch function is freely assignable so it can also be used on your keyboard, synthesizer or drum computer, for example. In this function, by the way, the FC-5A is a more chosen pedal.

Is the pedal also suitable for other brands?
Basically, the FC-4A can be connected to instruments of any brand and can be made to work at any time. The only advantage of an original pedal is that the polarity is always properly adjusted. With instruments from other brands there is a small chance that you have to change the polarity in the menu of your instrument.
