Austrian Audio OC7

The OC7 is really a very innovative piece of gear. The OC7 is the twin brother of the OD5. Whereas the OD5 is a dynamic microphone, the OC7 is a condenser. In its function it is "just" a very good instrument microphone with a gigantic dynamic range and very high SPL value. But what is especially special about this microphone is the design of the head.
Where we are used to a microphone being just one piece, the OC7 is split into 2 parts. The input and the solid metal housing is as we know it, but the head is mounted on it via an extra flexible arm mechanism. This in combination with the very compact head makes that you can position the mic really anywhere and adjust the position to perfection. Changing the distance or direction from the speaker to get a different tone on the guitar has never been easier. Or tucking this mic away in the drum kit without having to bother aiming it at the snare is now no longer a problem. And with its SPL rating of 150 dB and frequency range of 20 - 20000 Hz, it can really handle any source.

The OC7 small-diaphragm condenser capsule is known from the OC707 and is handmade in Vienna, as is always the case with Austrian Audio. The housing is made of aluminum so you can conveniently take this instrument with you on tour.
