Eastman has partnered with Otto D'ambrosio for the D'Ambrosio Series; an absolute hi-end, boutique-style electric guitar to eventually complement the existing Eastman electric guitar collection. All D'ambrosio Series are handcrafted in California with the very best tonewoods and parts of uncompromisingly high quality.
Many of the various models may feel familiar, but these are unique instruments where innovation and tradition combine. When something new also feels old-fashioned familiar, you know you've found a new home. D'Ambrosio guitars continue the heritage of matching California design with down-to-earth playability.
Vision for the future of tone and durability.
Everything in the D'Ambrosio Series reflects that clear goal; from rare, reclaimed tonewoods that offer a distinctive voice, to hand-wound pickups that elicit nuanced tonality, to a new, unique design optimized for playability. Guided by Otto's discerning eye, Eastman set out to create instruments of unparalleled beauty and quality. The D'Ambrosio Series represents Eastman's thoughts - both aesthetic and functional - on the future of solid body electric guitars.
The FullerTone neck; the new best in guitar design.
At the heart of the D'Ambrosio Series design lies a stunning innovation: the FullerTone neck. Conceived and brought to life by master luthier and head of design, Otto D'Ambrosio, this all-new long-tenon, 2-bolt, neck-to-body joint redefines the industry standard.
The body-to-body joint is the most important joint on a guitar. It acts as a bridge of energy; transmitting resonance, sustain and tone while giving stability to the guitar.
Although the FullerTone neck is secured with only two bolts, it fulfills this ambition and provides an unprecedented three times the neck-to-body contact for unhindered resonance transmission. The graceful geometry of the body embraces the neck in perfect harmony and is squarely secured with two bolted, machine-turned screws locked into steel anchors embedded in the neck. The complete design is a fusion of old-world craftsmanship and modular versatility and the first bolt-on neck tuned to match the sustain and stability of a set-neck guitar.
With the Fullertone neck, Otto's vision for a guitar with seamless tonal continuity, from headstock to bridge, is fully realized; maximizing tonal potential.
Wood of tone.
Roasted Phoenix Pine, sustainably salvaged during the regeneration process of the Oregon wilderness, is given a second life by a controlled heat treatment that imparts complexity - modern-era clarity with smoky overtones. Last but not least, the rough-grained pine with a thin nitrocellulose coating also has a great look.
North American Hard Rock Maple shapes each demanding FullerTone neck and undergoes specialized curing for a rugged feel with modern snap.
Uncompromised construction, parts and tone control.
Wildwood MF, veterans of the California guitar scene, lend their esteemed CNC-based woodworking talents, while all nitrocellulose finishes are provided by the legendary craftsmanship of Martin Bravo and his son. For optimal warmth and articulation, all D'ambrosio guitars feature selected boutique pickups by Jason Lollar that are hand-wound in custom sets.
And finally, but more crucially, the best hardware was selected such as the MannMade USA tremolo with brass block. Tuners are from the grenommed Gotoh, and potentiometers and switches are from the well-known brands CTS, Schaller, and Switchcraft.
