The result is an open and natural sound that effortlessly compliments any microphone. In addition, the unit offers unprecedented flexibility. Want to add extra character? Then take advantage of two variable saturation and filter stages and a clever built-in compressor.

Audiophile circuit design
Where many preamps use a standard potentiometer, the skulpter qube opts for audiophile gain-staging with fixed resistors switched via relays and electronic switches. With the stepped encoder, you have 40 gain modes of 3-65 dB at your disposal. This allows you to amplify whisper-quiet recordings as well as drive even low-output ribbon microphones with ease. This design eliminates the need for an additional pad that would degrade the signal-to-noise ratio. Following the gain section is a completely discrete Class A amplifier in feed-forward configuration, providing an open and natural sound that benefits any source - vocal or instrumental.

Flexible processing
Whether you choose crisp clarity or warm and powerful, the skulpter qube always delivers. In addition to the mic input, it features a balanced DI with plenty of headroom, suitable for guitar, bass, synths and effects. In addition, you have two variable saturation/filter stages and a smart compressor at your disposal. Add a variable highpass filter, phantom power, phase shift and mute switch, and you have a front end that delivers studio results instantly.
