Byzance Vintage
The Meinl Byzance Vintage series combines the distinctive sound of a well-worn cymbal with a modern playing experience. By tailoring the appearance and construction to mimic the natural aging process of a cymbal, a unique, vintage sound with plenty of character is created. The series has its origins in the famous Sand Ride, which Meinl developed in collaboration with artist Benny Greb. The Vintage line has since grown into an extensive collection featuring various models that play a key role in the distinctive Meinl sound. All cymbals are manufactured in Turkey from B20 bronze and hand-hammered. The Sand models feature a fine lathe finish and a sandblasted surface, while the Vintage Pure models are left completely unlathed and raw. As a result, each model has its own unique character and appearance.
