Midi Solutions F8

The MIDI Solutions F8 turns a simple footswitch into a powerful MIDI controller. The F8 provides connections for as many as eight footswitches (not included), allowing you to send virtually any type of MIDI command. For example, you can set one switch to start or stop a drum machine, use another for tap tempo, and still others for program change or control change commands. Anything with a MIDI input can be controlled in one way or another with the F8 - making this unit an extremely flexible tool for live and studio.

Expanded Features:
The F8 has eight 6.35 mm jack inputs for footswitches or contact closures that can trigger MIDI events. These signals are combined with incoming MIDI data and passed through the MIDI output. The F8 can generate various MIDI commands, including Note, Control Change, Pitch Bend, Program Change, Start/Stop and System Exclusive.
Additional functions include: Program Change INC/DEC, Rechannelize, Transpose, Tap Tempo, Note-On Filter, MIDI Echo and Footswitch Toggle (adjustable on/off).

The polarity of each footswitch is automatically determined on power-up or set manually (normally open or normally closed). You can also set the F8 to send the current status of all switches immediately upon power-up, without having to press first.

Programming is done via MIDI System Exclusive messages using the MIDI Solutions Programming Tools software. Once set, the parameters are retained even if the power is turned off. You can reprogram the F8 as many times as necessary.

The F8 runs on MIDI power, so it does not need batteries or an external adapter with most MIDI devices. The built-in LED indicates when the unit is active and flashes as soon as MIDI data is sent or received.
