On the OLED screen is a waveform display where you can zoom in and cut your samples in real time. Auto Chop is also present on this device that lets you slice samples automatically. The resampling workflow has been modified so that you can re-record patterns and effect layers and even the last 25 seconds of your performance can be recorded with Skip Back Sampling.
This unit includes legendary SP effects such as Vinyl Simulator, DJF Looper, Lo-Fi, Cassette Simulator, Resonator. For a more intricate sound texture, you can plug in a microphone or guitar and play with ready-made effects like the Vocoder Auto Pitch and Guitar Amp Simulator. And as a Christmas on the cake, the Roland SP-404MKII lets you create patterns flexibly thanks to features like quantize, shuffle, Pad Link to trigger multiple samples at once, a Roll button for variable no-repetition and a BPM-per-bank for tempo changes.
