The MKH 8018 is a stereo shotgun RF condenser microphone that captures sound with an accurate sense of direction and spaciousness. With an advanced push-pull transducer design and a low-voltage diaphragm, this microphone offers high sensitivity and a wide frequency range, so you capture sound as faithfully as possible.

Capture sound that other microphones miss
The MKH 8018 is a stereo shotgun RF condenser microphone that captures an unprecedented sense of direction and spaciousness. Thanks to an innovative push-pull transducer combined with a low-voltage diaphragm, this microphone offers exceptional sensitivity and a wide frequency range. This allows you to capture sound with maximum authenticity.

Flexible recording options with 3 switchable modes
The MKH 8018 offers versatility thanks to three stereo settings: MS, XY-narrow and XY-wide. In MS mode, the mid and side signals are captured separately, so stereo width can be adjusted in post-production or live via a matrix mixer. For instant stereo recording without external mixers, you can choose between a "narrow" (LR-N) or "wide" (LR-W) recording pattern. The narrow setting offers more focused recording with less ambient noise, while the wide setting picks up more ambience.

Sennheiser MKH 8018 features:

  • stereo shotgun configuration for a spacious and natural soundstage
  • three switchable stereo modes: MS, XY-narrow and XY-wide
  • perfect for film and video productions, sports recordings, nature and environmental sound
  • switchable low-cut filter (-3 dB at 70 Hz) reduces wind and handling noise
  • built-in -10 dB pad prevents distortion
  • compact size, ideal for camera mounting
  • sound identical to other microphones in the MKH 8000 series for consistent sound quality
  • symmetrical push-pull transducer design ensures natural and undistorted sound reproduction
  • extended bass response gives greater freedom in microphone placement
  • Non-modular design; fixed XLR 5M output
  • 115 gr.
  • diameter ⌀ 22 mm

With the MKH 8018 you get a microphone that captures every detail razor-sharp, regardless of the recording environment!
