The Sennheiser MMK 965 is a condenser microphone head and is switchable between kidney and super kidney (cardioid or supercardioid) characteristics. It is a true flagship of the Evolution series with an unprecedented professional sound. You can easily mount this separate microphone head on a wireless handheld transmitter.
By default, a handheld transmitter does not always come with a microphone head. This system allows you to choose and order the appropriate microphone head yourself. The Sennheiser MMK capsules are compatible with, among others, the SKM 100/300/500 G3/G4, SKM 2000/6000/9000, SKM D1/AVX and SL handheld DW wireless handheld transmitters (sold separately). The capsule is easy to install.
What is also convenient about an interchangeable capsule is that you can change microphone heads if there is a specific application where you need a different head. So on a handheld you can use different microphone heads. On a small stage a dynamic microphone can sometimes work better than e.g. a sensitive condenser microphone. Or maybe you prefer to use a microphone with a kidney characteristic (e.g. for a presentation). And in another application you prefer to switch to a super-nier (e.g. if you suffer from crosstalk on a stage with a lot of monitor noise). The interchangeable capsule system thus allows you to choose between capsules with different sensitivity levels and polarity patterns.
