The SBX Sub operates on the principle of a limp mass baffle with porous loading. Simply put, the panel uses a freely moving diaphragm construction combined with absorptive material. This combination is designed to selectively absorb low frequencies, while the modular design remains practical for studio use. According to Sessiondesk, when placed directly against a wall, the SBX Sub is tuned to around 75 Hz. By increasing the distance between the wall and the panel, the response shifts deeper into the low-frequency range. The Sessiondesk SBX Sub features a birch plywood frame with a Sessiondesk 90s black finish. The PET surface is made from at least 60 percent recycled plastic bottles. The interior consists of 100 percent natural wood fiber from the Black Forest and is free of mineral wool and synthetic foams. The PET surface is dust-repellent and easy to clean. It is also moisture-resistant, bacteria-resistant, and free of VOCs, formaldehyde, phenols, and phthalates. The wood fiber insulation is recyclable, Natureplus-certified, and made from wood fiber sourced from the Black Forest.

Finish and Color Details
The SBX Sub has the same sleek studio look as the SBX Core. The black birch plywood frame and PET front provide a clean look that fits well in professional studios, project studios, podcast studios, and creative workspaces. The box includes extra colored lasso straps in Fibrous Green and Agate Grey. You can use these to customize the panel’s appearance.
