The inspiration for the WA-8000 was a K67-style capsule, a microphone capsule with multi-pattern capability found in several of the world's most renowned tube microphones. Warm Audio reconstructed the original design, refined the frequency response and made the capsule of solid brass. The result is a responsive, highly detailed microphone that accurately captures the nuances of any source. Specially designed heat sink optimizes performance
Sure, it looks great, but the WA-8000's specially designed external heat sink does much more than just add prestige to your vocal booth. The heat sink is designed to direct heat away from the microphone's tube and electronics, maintaining the ideal operating temperature and lowering the noise floor for the cleanest recordings possible. Again striving for authenticity, Warm Audio went back to the source when selecting the tubes for the WA-8000. After testing a large number of 6AU6 tubes from different manufacturers, new, original tubes were chosen to give the WA-8000 its open tone and characteristic midrange.
