Versatile configuration, no fuss

The WA-CX12 is inspired by its ability to capture sound in a natural, airy way - presence, not just substance. Want two voices on one microphone? Figure-8. Hyperaccurate, punchy drums? Cardioid. Atmospheric, lush piano? Omnidirectional. With a total of 9 polar pattern configuration options (including numerous intermediate and mixed choices), you'll never be short of recording arrangements. The special edge-terminated capsule gives this microphone versatility that can increase recording options to maximize flexibility while maintaining consistent recording quality.

Robust responsiveness

A maximum SPL of 149dB is already impressive, but so is a frequency range of 30Hz to 20kHz? Now we're talking range. The dual-backplate design increases mic sensitivity and frequency response, capturing sounds nuanced at most registers, while keeping the midrange flatter, leading to the unique vibration of the mid frequencies. A premium 12AY7 tube is connected to a boutique 7-pin GAC-7 tube cable from Gotham Audio. A professionally low output impedance of 200 ohms is achieved, thanks in part to the external IEC grounded PSU. Encased in an all brass vintage case, the WA-CX12 is a multipurpose workhorse with the power to capture classic sounds.
